Welcome to Josi’s Lab, a place where technology, creativity, and a bit of cat fur come together to build, learn, and have fun.

At Josi’s Lab, we are a highly specialized (and slightly sleepy) team dedicated to exploring new technologies, deepening our knowledge, and documenting every step of the journey. Although our team is made up of top-tier specialists, they do require about 20 hours of sleep a day to maintain their excellence, and that's where I come in, supporting them across all areas!

To learn, to build, to experiment, and to share knowledge, while having a great time doing it.

Meet the Team

Josi – Full-Spectrum IT Generalist

The human element of Josi’s Lab. I work across all fields,Linux, cloud, infrastructure, security, development, containerization, and beyond, supporting the team of feline experts as needed. When the specialists are napping (which is often), I make sure the work continues.

Ned – Chairman

The serious, no-nonsense overseer of the Lab. Ned keeps everything on schedule, ensures our standards are met, and maintains order when chaos threatens. Punctual, poised, and professional, he might not always get his paws dirty with technical work, but he ensures every project runs according to plan.

Batatinha – Vice President of Innovation

In charge of everything cutting-edge and outside the box, Batatinha leads our explorations into new, novel technologies, from AI experiments to quantum dabblings. She’s endlessly curious... until she needs a snack, a nap, or a cuddle session (usually in that order).

Mingau – Chief Information Security Officer (CISO)

Master of all things security. Mingau defends the Lab’s secrets with unmatched vigilance. Her specialty: creating a secure perimeter around herself, her favorite chair, and her favorite human. Intrusion attempts (or unexpected cuddles) are met with immediate enforcement.

Clotilde – Head of Infrastructure

An expert in servers, system administration, and all things Linux. Clotilde oversees everything related to infrastructure with the precision of a seasoned sysadmin. When not configuring access control lists, she can often be found scaling any climbable surface or snacking on flowers (security hazard!).

Manolo – Head of Platform Engineering

Our go-to specialist for application development and web platform operations. Manolo ensures that all our apps and websites are built sturdy and scalable, although he occasionally suggests "lasagna-fueled" performance boosts. A proud connoisseur of comfort food and champion of lazy Sundays, he is not a fan of Mondays.

Pipoca – IT Intern

Every Lab needs an enthusiastic intern! Pipoca is responsible for... well, she’s still learning. Her current expertise includes testing system resilience (by accidentally knocking things over) and conducting hardware durability assessments (with her teeth). One day she'll be a pro...for now, she teaches us patience and disaster recovery.

The Grumbler - Principal Consultant – Innovation and Growth Architecture

The human behind The Grumbler Cat, brings his sharp eye, critical mind, and unapologetic love for complaining to the Hexacats team, thankfully, with no complaints about the cats themselves. As an external consultant, he supports content development, reviews our posts with relentless precision, and helps shape the structure and tone of our website. With a knack for questioning everything and a soft spot for feline logic, The Grumbler ensures our digital presence evolves thoughtfully, purposefully, and just the right amount of grumbly.

You’ll notice that most (if not all) of the actual step-by-step procedures are published in BookStack. In my opinion, it’s one of the best tools out there for documenting and organizing technical processes. It’s clean, easy to use, and super practical for searching and maintaining content. Basically, everything you’d want in a digital lab notebook.
